Eyes to See, Ears to Hear

Many of us who have grown up around the church and Christian circles have been told that Christ is in everyone and everything and that we only need to look for Him to find Him.  To this we generally nod in agreement and then have no idea what this means.

While this little experiment by the Washington Post isn’t exactly what they were referring to, it definitely has brought the point home to me this week.  I simply cannot get this video or story out of my head.

The experiment is this: Joshua Bell, one of the world’s finest and most sought after violinist’s, performs in a DC subway station during rush hour, like any other “street musician” (except that he’s one of the best in the world and is playing on a $3.5 million violin).  Will people notice?  Does beauty break through?  Watch and see.  Then read the article here.

This is dated 2007 and has just come across my radar, which ironically says something in itself.  Seriously though, read the article.
